WHY THE PLANES ARE ON THE GROUND

This is the ash cloud on the 17th of April, 2010.

And now it's still going wild on the 18th April, 2010.

Photos are from the Daily Mail in Britain.

Whoah! This is when living so far away is a good thing....

Sapphire just walked in and said, "This is the scariest year so far of my (ten year old) life. Earthquakes and eruptions!"

Planes are better off staying on the ground but they're talking about opening airports shortly.
Sorry, my broomstick is the only thing I'm flying in these days!

Elisabeth, Mother Nature seems to be truly pissed off. There are some remarkable legends in Iceland to explain the landscape formed by lava. I know exactly where that book is in my bookcase.

Kath, I don't remember life being this exciting when I was Sapphire's age. I do remember one earth tremor and it was big.

Jayne, watch the rear view for sparks, the broom not yours.
