Mud cake always sticks to my teeth and I find it too dense. Now chocolate sponge with mousse layers I can handle.

Annie O, I just love looking at them and I'm much too lazy to bake them anymore. I should have taken a photo of the last Christmas cake I decorated but I didn't know it was going to be the last.

George, couldn't you have picked a more aristocratic moniker? Peregrine? Tarquin? The headless waiters, diabolical waste of time, plonk them in plain chocolate and eat the strawberries but they do look pretty.JahTehhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02007730071564639411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17391176.post-18587175906274840062013-07-29T22:16:55.510+10:002013-07-29T22:16:55.510+10:00I'm a bit worried about all those headless wai...I'm a bit worried about all those headless waiters on the middle one...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11928234601434653403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17391176.post-13013755919527989852013-07-29T19:55:12.129+10:002013-07-29T19:55:12.129+10:00there's cake in there somewhere ... under all ...there's cake in there somewhere ... under all the frosting. Patisserie porn. More healthful to look than to consume.Ann ODynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01159263330547329077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17391176.post-71404709075327927682013-07-29T19:12:17.438+10:002013-07-29T19:12:17.438+10:00I had to stop using cake pics as wallpaper too, th...I had to stop using cake pics as wallpaper too, the screen got too soggy from all the licking.
I don't understand the fascination with mud cake either. Perhaps because it is such a dense, sturdy cake which makes it easier to decorate? I like my own home made mud cake which has rum in it, but I don't make it very often.
