JULY IS MOVING MUCH TOO FAST

As far as I'm concerned it is half way because if I stop at the 30th of July and don't move over to the 31st then I won't get any older. Now that's logic.
I've tried several times to post the monster of a weekend, thank you Mother, but I can't talk about it. It's taken three days to just put it in my journal.
So, I've given myself a week's respite care. I've done all the washing that was lying around, been out in the garden to water the plants and nearly watered the neighbourhood lost soul. This old tom has been wandering up and down my street for years, sleeping on roof tops in the sun but this is the first time I've seen him in my garden. It was a shock for both of us but he didn't look too well so I've left some Whiskettes by his little nest of weeds.

  1. Blessed be the tom cat the weeds, the birthday cake the whiskettes and the good ship, JahTeh. You have a new friend in the world I'd wager.
Rat-zinger is probably as good a name as any for him.

  2. Caroline, how could you be so unkind to a feline? Now if it was a ferret, the name would be right on target.

  3. How lovely for you to be adopted by a cat. Now to figure out why the universe or cosmos has sent him to you.......

Because she's cat free at the moment...and if you're a muggins (i.e. somebody that cats are attracted to automatically, which just about sums up 90 per cent of bloggers from what I can gather) that means free food, comfortable lodgings and a warm television set to toast your toes on.

  5. River, I'd hate to try and catch him. He's a real tom, bull necked and all muscles and Fleetwood is right, I am catless and planning to stay that way. I'll just feed him.

You can talk, Brian, I believe your moggie cost the equivalent of the British national debt or one of Princess Anne's horses.

  6. Let's just say he has expensive tastes. Fortunately me and Michelle can just about survive on the pittance that's left after we've finished buying his caviar, pate fois gras and chips otherwise we'd be in a right pickle.

  7. Round here it's the Vets that have expensive tastes. Over the years I swear my Vet has bought up half of Hawaii with what I've paid out in fees.

  8. Poor old cat - its probably hating the cold - all cats deserve to be placed reverently in sunny spots or before wood fires - after all it is only their due

  9. Maybe you could buy one of those funny little pet beds which look like a Yurt from the $2 shop and stick it under the house? he sounds like he hasnt' got long to go and needs a place to curl up in, poor old love.

We have so many bats around at the moment (flying foxes actually) it's like a remake of Nosferatu.

  10. Therese, I can't afford to own a cat but I can afford a box of whiskettes to take the edge off his hunger.

Helen, today, in the rain, I went up the side where it's dry and put old clothes in a big drawer and a bowl of whiskettes so I hope he gets in there.

  11. Whiskettes = lots of water - but of course you knew that! ;-)

I forgot to say happy birthday, Jahteh.
    Happy Birthday!
