The windows shook and rattled.
Then the loud bang as the wave hit the concrete floor.
But 3kms away my sister thought a possum had jumped on the roof.
And put to rest the theory that animals rush around and give warning of an approaching tremor.
The cat never moved a whisker.
Of course I could be wrong.

Like the cool cat I be, the earth may move for me but I never move a whisker.
Cool hand Luke that'd be me.
(Word verifcation, a very apposite 'brava leo'.)
I am definitely a brava Leo but I did give a jump when the bang hit.
That's what I get for saying the earth tremor in Frankston was The Blonde falling over in the bottleshop.
I heard a few days ago that they had a bit of an earth quake in Frankston or thereabouts, but no damage was detected.
Perhaps you felt the after shocks.
No need to panic, Witchy. It was just me recovering from last night's sprouts.
I'm waiting for Mt Gambier to blow it's stack again.
100% correct, centered around Port Phillip Bay apparently. Cat obviously has an internal meter that only registered a low risk. It made the news in NSW this morning.
Elisabeth, only a 2.3 in Frankston, the Japanese would not even noticed it.
Fleetwood, you weren't playing with matches at the time I hope? I can just see photos of a giant flame taken from the space station becoming a best seller.
Jayne, a bit closer to home, we have plenty to choose from in the Western District.
Mindy, must have been a slow news day in NSW or just taking the attention away from that nong football player? I will go and see if anyone noticed it here in the happening city.
Nothing registered over here. Of course I am MILES away........
It was Hughes and his brussel sprouts putting the Hadron Collider through its paces.
River, all you get in Adelaide is giant temperatures.
Sedgwick, a 3 on the Richter Scale, feel free to pun on that.
WHAT! Me pun!?
I leave that sort of cheap humour to Hughes.
I'm more your existential fart joke kinda garcon.
We heard about the earthquake up here in Port Macquarie - but my daughter in melboure slept through it...
Therese, it was only small and, if I remember, she lives high up so wouldn't feel it. It's just that the concrete slab the house is built on is about 2 feet thick so it really goes bang.
