I'm trying to ignore the earthquake in the room

Somehow I'm often disappointed in how Argyle Pink diamonds are set but here I think they got it right. This is the Shalimar Ring which features 4.86 Carats of Argyle Pink diamonds with a 1.25 carat pink round diamond centrepiece. It was last valued at $2 million but as they say, if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it. It's my favourite flower shape for a ring. I have a birthday in July, if you're interested.

  1. I'm interested.

Have loaded up the Polaroid for when you jump out of the birfdy cake.

  2. I can't imagine spending more on a piece of jewelry than I would on a house. But then I don't wear rings so I'm not swayed by them no matter how pretty they may be.

  3. Sedgers, my dear Lord, get out the camera for the IMAX theatre otherwise you'll miss all the goods tits er that would be bits.

No-one, no rings but but what do you look at for pretties? And I don't mean Lord Sedgwick.
Two million on an Argyle Pink is an investment not a whim, the mine is running out of pinks.

  4. For jewelry I wear a two silver pendants on a silver chain. For prettiness I'm drawn to thunder and lightning storms & dragonflies.

  5. It is emeralds rather than diamonds that float my boat, but I am drawn to dragonflies too.

  6. It's gorgeous, but $2mil is a little steep even for me. Plus I'd be worried about knocking off a few stones everytime I changed the sheets or hung laundry, because it's a little large.

Much as I'm tempted you'll have to excuse me whilst I let that one go straight through to the keeper.

  8. Thunder and lightning, you're singing my song. Dragonflies, I must find the plique-a-jour turn of the century one which will delight you.

EC, you'd think being a red head, I'd go for emeralds but I prefer green tourmaline.

River, dear, if you can afford this you can afford the servants for the menial tasks while you blog and watch the diamonds flashing.

Thank you kindly 'Step on it' Sedgwick.
Thoughts for the Lady Livia too.

  9. Taa, Coppertop. She's on a drip and awaiting CT results - 5 hours and counting in John Fawkner hospital is one hell of a way to spend Labour Day.

  10. I had to google plique-a-jour (learned something new today, yay!), and now I know what it is, I think it sounds lovely.

  11. No-One I have now posted it for you and it's as pretty as I remembered.

Sedg, I know she'll be just fine, after all she has a granddaughter and a horse to look after.
