A good public school which will cost you more than a suburban house is supposed to turn out good citizens, educated, polite and upstanding.
Crap to the public schools little bastards who ran off the bus taking the emergency window handle with them thereby setting off the alarm which stops the bus which is taking me home and makes me just a tad homicidal.
Congrats to the driver who when into the newsagent and came back with sellotape for a makeshift repair.
Remember those old comedies where someone would take an orange from the bottom of the pyramid and the whole lot would fall? I'd like to choke the supermarket packer who thought it would be a good idea to do the same with blocks of chocolates. By the time I managed to get 10 or so blocks back on the shelf, I was half looking around for a concealed camera recording for 'Funniest Home Videos'.
It wasn't a pyramid of chocolate more like a roman arch with one block as the keystone. Impossible to re-create so I shoved the leftovers in the nearby freezer.
As our Bwca would say, 'Bad man did it and ran away'.
"Crap to the public schools little bastards who ran off the bus..."
ReplyDeleteYou mean they physically picked up the bus up and ran off with it, rather than just drove it away? I'll say one thing for public schools, they must breed 'em with big muscles. All the more reason for taking the tram anyway...I'd like to see 'em try the same trick with that.
Oh those delightful little darlings *sigh*.
ReplyDeleteI just love the way they scatter and, occasionally squeal, when I push my heavily-laden shopping trolley-jeep into the large groups that insist on taking over the whole footpath.
It can't just be me that thinks the little creepers are getting louder and more obnoxious. *Nitpicking antiquarian*
ReplyDeleteJayne, I think I've gone into the twilight zone of grumpy old woman. Two of the girls were from my old school and their talk was so juvenile that I was astounded to see they had VCE badges on their uniforms. And the size of the bags! It's as though they're all going to trek up Mt Everest or kidnap rock stars.
Some idiot in our supermarket built a pyramid of cartons of 2 litre pepsi with the topmost cartons cut open so that customers could get to the bottles. Unfortunately the bottom of the pyramid was a little wider than the shelf unit and protruded just enough to be constantly nudged by trolleys. I stood at my checkout one day watching as the pyramid was knocked down and rebuilt several times before the idiot responsible for the display took my advice and reduced the size of the thing. Amazingly not one bottle broke open.
ReplyDeleteI'm very pleased with my daughter's choice of high schools for her two. I know and work with several girls who went to the granddaughters school and society couldn't wish for better girls. Polite, considerate, well behaved in public, good work ethics. The boy isn't yet at high school, but his primary school is across the road from the one he'll be going to next year and the boys graduating from there are turned out exactly the same as the girls school.
River, I congratulate you for not giving in to temptation and loosening a few bottle tops in those cartons.
ReplyDeleteHigh schools must be Hell these days, with the bullying, learning, boozing or drugging. All I had to worry about was scrapping up the right amount of cash for a can of hairspray and I didn't worry about the ozone layer just the top layer of hair not to be moving.
Public schools costing as much as a suburban house J? Are you using the term "public school" in the UK sense?

ReplyDeleteIs there an echo echo in here??
ReplyDeleteRight Helen, I've been hanging around Fleetwood for far too long. I did mean private schools and the kids are still horrible but maybe it's just me getting old.
ReplyDeleteahahahaha ha ha!
ReplyDeleteNo way would I loosen a few bottle tops. Cleanup is horrendous. one hot day a bottle of coke popped it's cap off for no reason at all that we could see. The coke sprayed out all over the checkout and two neighbouring checkouts. Stray sprays and drops were still being discovered days later, because when a clean up is in progress its just the floor and major sprayout that gets done as quickly as possible so that customers are not held up too long. I felt sorry for the customers who had the coke shower though.
ReplyDeleteone of the Venture busdrivers told me
ReplyDeletethe Chadstone High kids built a fire under the last seat of his bus and lit it as they got off
Ann, that cannot possibly be true, as any fule kno that sort of thing never happens in the Eastern suburbs, only to us westies ;-)
ReplyDeleteRiver, must agree with you on the cola, you never find all the drops.
ReplyDeleteO'Dyne, I swear you'd talk to a corpse. You shouldn't distract bus drivers, they're bad enough as it is.
You can't have all the best bits, Westie.
