ASTRONOMY PICTURE OF THE DAY

This image from Keith C. Langill is a fogbow. It's a reflection of sunlight by water drops similar to a rainbow but without the colours. The photo was taken with the sun behind the photographer.
To download a larger version this is the place.

It's very nice Witchy...but surely it's meteorology rather than astronomy?

It is indeed a wonderful picture of a rainbow without colours...

It's optometry without the chemistry.

Nitpicking antiquarian! They don't always have outer space at that site.

Hip, you should try http://www.atoptics.co.uk for some great atmospheric optics. Take no notice of anything over Fleetwood way, it's only Hughes and the permanent smog cloud that follows him.

Honestly River, I don't know what I did before the internet and images.

Therese, just for you I'll go through and find the moonbow photo in the files. That's a beauty.

Go for it Fleetwood, race Sedgwick for the worst pun.
