TOO SICK FOR COMPUTER

I never thought I'd say that but I haven't turned it on once this week. Good old blogger put the scheduled one up last Sunday and that was it.

I've lost interest in computer, food, chocolate and I still haven't spent my birthday money.

A family of microscopic gerbils fleeing from an intergalactic war has taken up residence in my right lung. At least that's what it sounds like, squeaking and eeking away except at night when I sometimes think Darth Vadar is lying beside me. How did he cope with that bloody breathing, it never stops.

Sleep deprivation is the pits.

I have developed empathy with anyone who battles cystic fibrosis, emphysema, asthma and chronic fatigue syndrome.

I'm boycotting Panadol flu tablets because of their ridiculous ad. Poor bloke, got his holiday all booked and he gets a cold, oh woe! But no worries, he's off to some tropical island with sun and water so he takes his Panadol and enjoys himself. You selfish prick, you're still crawling with germs that you're taking on the plane, breathing all over the islanders, leaving on door knobs, in the water but, hey, you don't feel a thing, I'm on pills. Panadol is the pits.

Paracetamol is okay to take when your temperature is heading towards 39. Years since I took a temperature and didn't notice the red number which is normal so ring sis to find out what is danger level. Making sure Mum has her pills keeps me from noticing I only have two paracetamol rolling round in the bottom of my bag. Sis arrives 10 minutes later with large packet and rings every half hour until temp. is down a couple of points.

Ice cold Sprite lemonade is divine when one is trying to force down a piece of dry toast.

Tired now, must rest for a big afternoon. I found a date scone in the freezer and I'm going to need all my strength for high tea.

Are you taking your Vitamin C and Cod Liver Oil? Your honey and lemon? Your ginger and garlic? Other similar drinks? These will fight the germs and boost your immune system. Please tell me you're taking SOMETHING to help. And I don't mean a date scone. While it might be tasty, it won't do anything for you. Have you seen a doctor? In case you need antibiotics? Although hopefully you don't.

I think I'm coming out in sympathy with you, Witchy. I've been dizzy and hardly able to stand for the last couple of days. It's saved a fortune on Scotch, but the novelty's starting to wear off a bit now.

oh dear Coppy what a drag.

REST and let your body work on the germs.

get well soon

Get well soon.
Pop over and see a GP - you might need some Ventolin for that wheeze (infection/viral-induced asthma).
Gastrolyte will kick your electrolytes back up and make you feel a bit better too.

You poor bugger. I copped my dose of flu early this winter and hope thats all, but when I finally crawled out to the shops, it was because there was no food left for the dog. I thought I was going to die and then he would be forced to eat me instead. I know this all costs but if you can afford Blackmores vit c 1,000mgs and take 4 a day for life and up it when you get sick it will help keep some bugs down. Blackmores Echinacae (spelling?) in liquid is good ... when I got better all th eshit I kept coughing up got rid of a low grade lung infection I had had since that time at Royal north Shore Hospital with Don... that was the only plus

Now you've gone and put the moz on moi. Hacking and snuffling, and tomorrow we're off to Hobart for a week where it will be all rain, snow and wind.

Hot water bottle, bottles of single malt and Rawleigh's Ready Relief packed.

I'm taking tea with Miz Panz when she comes to Melbourne. Anyone desirous of viewing this spectacle will be tipped off well ahead.

Sorry to hear. I thought you were quiet because you had been locked up for motherocide.

River, allergic to fish oil, now citrus but I'm on mega b and garlic/vitamin c. Anti-biotics helped but nothing helped quite as much as finding a date scone in the freezer. No chocolate though, still off chocolate. Soy and linseed bread was enough since I'm not likely to starve.

'I've been dizzy and hardly able to stand for the last couple of days'. Fleetwood, you've been sniffing the wrong end of the cows again, haven't you?

Thanks Annie O, I would be getting a lot of rest if it wasn't for the marathon coughing. The damn thing's only in one lung and the top bit of that and it's put me off chocolate. I can't believe it's put me off chocolate.

Jayne, I was too crook to see a doctor but years of self medicating kicked in even if I don't remember what a normal temp is.

Therese, for me to miss shopping day is really bad. I'm sitting here with money and I don't care. I've been running on fumes for the last 3 months so I knew something would get me.

Awww, poor Sedgy. That's really rotten bad luck but who in their right mind goes to Tassie at this time of year? They're expecting snow again, probably storms as well. We'll be thinking of ya, freezing yer skinny bum blue.

Andrew, she's been ringing 3 times a day to see if I'm any better but a cousin has just died so that's keeping her occupied.

Rh, an assignation? I hope you'll be romantic.

I feel your pain, Copperwitch. I'm slowly getting over my lurgy, but I'm still coughing up snot oysters and blowing holes in my tissues.

I thought of charging admission but the venue makes it a bit difficult: a corner cafe in Yarraville, next to the old Sun Theatre.

Kath, I ran out of Aloe tissues and had to make do with cheap tissues. It's a great way to get a nose job, talk about rough on the old bugle.

Rh, a corner cafe sounds so Paris. You really are an old romantic, strike the old, just romantic.
