WHY SO MUCH FUSS?

Two bills concerning the well-being of women have now been passed in the Victorian Parliament and why was there such a fuss about laws being dragged into the 21st Century?

GROUP A. Single women, lesbians, infertile single women who desperately want to bring a child into their lives and are prepared to go through the rigours of ART.

GROUP B. A clusterfuck of moral crusaders.

GROUP C. Women, who for various reasons, don't wish to procede with a pregnancy. Reasons include incest, rape, severe foetal abnormalities or accidental conception due to contraception failure.

Group B, the CFMC wanted to DENY Group A from having children they want because they find lesbians offensive and single women unsuitable without a protecting husband.

Group B, the CFMC wanted to FORCE Group C into having children they don't want.

So the bottom line is that a minority believes they have the moral right to dictate to a majority, Groups A and C, about which women can and cannot bear children unless it's in accordance with the archaic beliefs of Group B.

I sincerely hope this is the last battle we have to fight on these two issues.

God is dead. Long live common sense.

Yes Your Lordship, and the great Goddess of Common Sense reigns supreme. Unless you're an American who thinks Sarah Palin would make a good President. And you worry about Her Maj, she'd wipe the floor with that crappy lot.

thanks for putting it so succinctly JahTeh.
Every time I have tried to compose my own view of this issue I have failed due to rage taking over my mind.
It's the Contradiction Of The Clusterfuckers:
"oh you lezzos have no husband so you cannot have a child"
and
"oh you pregnant woman dumped by the father must complete the pregnancy"

eejits.

Hi Coppie

I agree with Ms O'Dyne - totally succint. I have been away from Australia for twenty-five years and I was totally shocked that this stuff is still kicking around here with such a degree of seriousness! No one batted a falsh eyelash when gay marriage became legal in Britain. Mind you, I think that was only because everyone was so relieved to see Elton John finally settling down.

Jayne, did you read that Bernie Finn spoke for 6 hours, against of course.

Annie O, the pro-lifers were pissed that these two issues were up together, they didn't know which way to move the guns.

Pants, there are a few things we are still backward in going forward with. All in all, rather here than live in America.

Unless of course it doesn't preclude Lord Fleetwood's predeliction ... lesbians team tag wrestling in custard against Sarah Palin and her great grandfather John "I could have been a contender" McCain.

Your Lordship, it's a good thing the election is after Halloween because I reckon Palin would do a neat fright night on Ol' John. Just a heartbeat away from the big red button and we worried about the little rodent in this country.

By the way, shame they're giving us loot after the Spring Racing Carnival or maybe not, with your track record.
