There's a full moon rising

Each full moon during the year has a traditional name in different human cultures. February's full moon is best known as the Wolf Moon among some Native American tribes.

The Algonquian peoples of North America called it the Snow Moon. Other names are Hunger Moon, Storm Moon, and Candles Moon. In Hindi it is known as Magh Poornima. Its Sinhala (Buddhist) name is Navam Poya.

The official time of the full moon this month is Feb. 18 at 8:36 Universal Time. The full moon takes place at exactly the same time everywhere in the world, but the local time depends on the time zone.

This is also the only time in the month when the moon is exactly opposite the sun in Earth's sky. On this date, and this date only, the moon rises as the sun sets, shines all night long, and sets as the sun rises.

The rising full moon often appears large and has an orange or red hue. The large size is an optical illusion; the moon is always the same size no matter where it is in the sky.

It's also the only full moon in the sign of Leo for this year. If the weather is good, I'll be dancing under the Leo moon and making a whole lot of wishes.

Last month's full moon was the first in 2 years Feral kidlet didn't have a meltdown, will let you know how tomorrow's goes.

For healthy pizza, use mountain bread as the base, pile with fresh vegies of choice, sprinkle with low fat cheese, cook in non-stick frying pan (or with a light spray of olive oil) throw lid on, cooked inside 5 mins.
Healthy, filling, low fat, low cal, doesn't heat up kitchen.

Jayne, why are you giving me healthy food, it's giving in to the fat police. I love making pizza dough and I have the yeast on the kitchen bench now. I can't make bread rise but pizza dough doesn't matter.

Nah, not giving in to the lardy-butt haters, it's quick, yummy, little effort and guilt-free lol.
Been grating carrot, chopping egg plant/celery/aspargus/leek, tossing spinach, etc, all over mine and it's YUM.
Although I do loves me some nice decent dough base....

The only full moon in Leo??
Well, being a Leo, I'd better get out there and make my own wishes.
Interesting information, JahTeh, I didn't know there were different names for the full moons. You'll have to do a similar post for each full moon. I like the Wolf Moon name, I like wolves.

Yesterday's behaviour by customers at work made me think, must check when the next full moon is. Sure enough.

Ah, so that's what is up today. Well, I'm going to dance under it too. Leos are all about the hair, so it can't hurt.

River, we get shortchanged this year, only one full moon in our sign. I didn't do much dancing in the dark last night, it poured with rain.

Rh, apparently he was like that, it wasn't really an act.

Andrew, they were ready for it at the home last night. It definitely affects the oldies who aren't quite with it.

Oz, dancing in the rain wouldn't have done either of us any good, hair wise. I was really looking forward to seeing a big moon and I don't mean me in a mirror.
