I missed it!

My blogaversary, October 3. Well I did have a lot on my mind but miss an opportunity to celebrate with cake.
Posting this just in time for morning tea so tuck in, don't mind manners not with my lot of commenters.
Sponge, raspberries, cream and three lovely layers.
I'll just pop out and get the paper plates and polish the silver cake forks, the large ones.
Thank goodness I didn't burn a hole in the kettle and I hope you like the Earl Grey tea.
Don't drop crumbs (with this lot, unlikely) the cat isn't here to snuffle them up.
Well, don't just stand there, get into to it.

And a very happy Blogiversary. And with a cake like that, how can it be anything else. Love, love, love raspberries.

Pop out to get forks and you'll find nothing left when you get back.
We eat with our hands.

Jayne, now I haven't had a decent coffee scroll for years, you know the ones with cinnamon, sugar and butter rolled up then covered with real coffee tasting glace icing. Damn now I won't be happy til I find one.

Drewan, if you have a china plate the GG will want one and I know where his will end up. I wonder why no-one's thought of edible paper cake plates?

EC, you can't beat a good sponge with berries and cream. My grandmother had a wood stove and would have one sponge in the oven, one to go and beating another by hand. My mother could never come near the perfection but then no-one could beat her boiled Christmas puddings.

Robbert, so true but with a cake that big even my mouth would need help. I was taken to an engagement party once where the range of pavlovas and sponges were luscious but I fell asleep behind the couch and when I woke every crumb was gone. I've never trusted adults and party food since.

Baker's Delight coffee scrolls aren't too bad, quite nice really especially if you get them fresh in the morning.

congratulations on maintaining for so long, a blog which is a joy to visit.
A celebration cake like that requires French Champagne I think, so I toast you in Taittinger.

Hi, my name is Robert, I am not on clozaril. Andrea is on clozaril. Quite mad. Her father is a murderer she says, has bodies buried all over the place. She's indignant about that, but finds his views on thrift quite reasonable.

Last night I tried to touch her for twenty. She went red in the face. Well I was only joking, but that's what thrift does to you, ruins your complexion.
