Lyrid Meteor over Crater Lake.

A lovely view of Crater Lake, a nested caldera in Oregan, USA.  A few nights ago there was no sunset or moonglow to interrupt viewing of the Lyrid Meteor Shower which showed as many as 30 meteors streaking across the sky from various locations
From almost the same vantage point a composite of nine exposures combined to show our Galaxy and a bright Lyrid Meteor streaking across the sky. The image is copyright to Brad Goldpaint.

Other meteor showers this year include the Perseids in mid-August and the Leonids in mid-November, both expected to also dodge the glare of a bright Moon in 2012.

That Crater Lake image could be on a Christams card it's so pretty. I haven't seen a single meteor in ages, let alone a multiple shower of them. I suppose I could count the one on that Big Bang Theory episode.

River, I am doing a post on Crater Lake and this was just a coincedence. Best place to see meteors is in outback Western Australia.

That's 'coincidence'. My spelling is going down the sink at the moment.

Strange attire in the streets of Williamstown. Big smiles, loud chatter....Yes it's on again: Williamstown Literary Festival! World event.

Rochester, a worthy contribution to blogging.
Any chance your mother suffered from post natal pyschosis? I know two members of my family were locked up for being crazy and it was PNP. Their families were never told until it was too late. Don't jump on me for a feminist but you can't say the Patriachy didn't hold the real power back then.

... well you made the M.Stacks comment look stupid by your deletions, although they are not deleted from my rss feed. I always wonder why you are too frightened to actually put a post at the blog your name links back to. All those 5928 disappointed View -ers are a pin in your voodoo doll.

You're right, I do apologise for my deletions, I realised at the time they'd interfere with your comment and so I was regretful about doing it.
The main reason I don't post at the blog (I think) is because I'd have to comment on a wide range of other blogs to hustle up comments in return. (Although I notice Jahteh gets regular comments and seldom puts them out herself.)
What frightens me off is the obligation to comment on postings from bloggers who've commented on mine.
One possibility (as you suggested to me already) is to do a Miz Panz and turn off comments.
As it is, I'm happy commenting on only a few blogs, the most interesting have always been yours, Jahteh's, Andrew's, and one or two others.

I've just noticed something, our comments occur at the exact same time on consecutive days.

I find that rather eerie.

Did I pass into an alternative universe and miss all this?
I've just been deleting a swag of spam from that silly dress tart.
Robbert, I can't comment at some blogs because of the word verification not showing the words on my browser.
