ABC's summer photo competition

The outright winner was this image by Karin Rich.  Taken at Coledale, N.S.W. as a summer storm closes in.  I love watching storms but we've had a few too many in the last 4 months. Still it's a ripper of a photograph.
Another image I really loved was this one taken by Phil Hart in Victoria.  Lake Victoria under startrails and with the added element of bioluminescence from Noticluca Scintillans.  I blogged about them somewhere here as Sea Sparkles.

I love that summer storm closing in. It would make a great wall mural to look at when the days are too hot and we're longing for a storm with lots of rain.

Thank you for bringing beauty into my world yet again.

Thanks for those. I would have missed them otherwise.

River, I don't know why I love storm photos so much, must be my Leo volatility.

EC, thank you for your lovely flower photos for bringing colour I don't have in my garden. No, I lie, I have Dandelions and the bees are pleased to see them.

Andrew, haven't you signed up for the ABC newsletter each week? Otherwise I'd miss everything.
