I'd have bought it but it's not in my price range, anything under 25 grand is just for doing the housework in and you know me and housework.  It would make a nifty dreamcatcher with the moonlight shining through.

I want to be rich and eat cake

This is what I call the "Isn't it gorgeous but I couldn't be bothered" cupcake.
No, she's not a cup cake but so cute I'd call  her Cupcake if she was mine.
This is a divine little cupcake. The frosted perfect rose, the leaves, the organza bow. It's all too good to eat, not that I wouldn't try petal by petal, leaf by leaf.
BUT THIS IS A CUPCAKE!!!
Of course, it's expensive since I'd have to catch a plane to London to get to Harrod's to buy this sequin bling cupcake clutch bag. I really need to be rich.

Slag off at youth fashion and it means "OLD"

Miss O'Dyne sent me this image some time ago when I was drooling on about velvet gowns and at 17 I really wanted to be this sophisticated. At 18 I managed to get the hair right and on my best coat I had an Arctic Fox fur collar. In those far off days of walking and freezing trains and no way of ever owning a car, I needed the warmth and we weren't exactly taught the moral ethics of not killing animals for fashion. The velvet dresses came later, much too late for the kind of lounging that Miss Elegance has perfected. I remembered this photo while I was wandering through the luxury items of Buccellati jewellers and I knew these ruby and diamond earrings would be perfect and of course a matching bracelet to complete the decadence.

Now we can start the bitching. Her straggling hair. Her bra straps. Her shapeless velvet and miles too short dress. Heavy belt, grungy jewellery and "shooties", cross between a shoe and a boot. You see what I mean about "old", it isn't elegant to me. It isn't even good dressing. I would wear that out to get the milk. But that's just me and even if she was my granddaughter I'd never say a word to her face. Behind her back is another matter. What's life when you're old without something to bitch about. At least she hasn't the bad taste to wear my beloved Buccellati rubies with it.

Mother crisis again.

Which means I have only enough time to post this for River (not enough time to link).

If you look carefully there are two heart shaped diamonds at the sides and more on the shank.
It's dainty and River is small so the two should be joined. I just have to win tattslotto first.

Wearing bling in a large manner.

 Now a post for Elephant's Child .
She is under the impression that's she's too large to wear a tiara (I bet my bum is bigger than yours) so here's Maria Theresa of Luxembourg wearing some serious bling.  She's not so tall but a little broad across the beam and she carries off this many diamonds like a champ. The Luxembourg Empire Tiara, not for the small and timid.
Although if you're just popping down to the corner store for a coffee and muffin, this smaller bandeau of rubies and diamonds would be quite in order.  Just make sure the thongs match and you're wearing gloves.

Of blog posts past

Yes, I'm still here, just melted to the chair.  The cat is fine, busy poking more holes in the curtains. As my Dad would have said, "nice cat but dumb". There is a huge gap between two lengths of curtain but do you think he can ever find it, just easier to put his head into a new shredded hole.

Now I was going through some old files and realized I had never followed up on this post.

And we have a winner although the Hope Diamond is now back in its original setting.  I picked this one as my favourite setting which was the second design by Maurice Galli and called "Embracing Hope".

While I was wandering through the Smithsonian looking for the Hope, I found this huge amethyst and diamond pendant.  I'm particularly fond of heart shaped gems and I wouldn't mind adding this to my jewell box.

Just a trinket.

It's about time we had a jewell on the blog and is this not a beauty.
Platinum mounted, 2.20 carats of diamond and an Imperial Topaz of 17.54 carats measuring 19.08x12.88x8.99mm.

This gem comes from Ouro Preto, Brazil.  It's unusual colour composed of gold, sherry and cherry hues is very much valued but since it only comes from a small area in Brazil, production is limited.
Platinum is very strong and I'm really a gold person although it's a one of a kind gem so I shouldn't be so picky.

Besides I forgot to buy a Tattslotto for tomorrow night.
