This is the gown grand daughter has bought for the Year 12 Formal. She'll look much better than the model, says grandmother. The colouring is just gorgeous and you all know they're two of my favourites shades. No doubt she'll manage to swan around in 5 inch heels and not fall down once.

A Cinderella dress. The prince will surely see her and all her dreams will come true.
That is stunning!
So....she going to 'see the light' and move down to where the better further education opportunities are in Victoria and be near her grandmother?
She will look stunning. I'm glad to see that big dresses are back. A couple of years after we did the big dresses everyone was doing slinky little black numbers. Fashion changes so quickly.
So so so beautiful and i'm with the others here - lovely to see purple instead of black or slutty silver sequins...
How old is she, sixteen?
That dress is too grown-up.
It's a beautiful gown. I love the colours. So many girls go for pastels, she'll really stand out in that.
Elisabeth, not on her feminist grannie's watch. Career and adventure before drudgery unless she meets Prince Carl of Sweden then I'm rolling out the red carpet.
Jayne, She'll probably do her flight attendant training down here and she has an enormous extended family. Better if mummy thinks she's not seeing too much of me.
Mindy, slinky little black dresses up to here and down to there are not in the same league as a grand frock. I tried to leave a comment at 'For Battle' but that comment section is a doozy, I felt like I was applying to ASIO.
Kath, it's lovely to feel like a princess for one night but as for slutty silver sequins, they would look so nice on your litter ninja outfit. You could have flashing ones that shout "Pick it up".
Robbbert, she's almost 18 and nearly 5'10" tall. She'll wear this with elegance.
River, If she's going to sell this after the formal then I'm putting in a bid for it. I'll keep it for the greatgranddaughter.
what a dress - a lot different from the simple things from when my daughters were that age
Therese, I've always loved dresses like this even as a little girl.
I think I've passed it on.
