Some people leave footprints on our heart.
Cats leave fur on our sweaters.
Dogs leave drool on our shoes.
Families will crap on our doorstep.
So when life gives you crap, garden it and make roses.
She won't thank me for shouting it aloud but what are friends for.
Elephant's Child, new Ben Arronnovitch book due out in two months (don't look at the spelling) and I have pre-ordered from the Book Depository before those Canberra mongrels whack the GST on overseas buying.
[cue Grover voice] HELLOoooo Evabodeeeeeeeeeeeeee You gorgeous things I really do appreciate the kindness. Ms Coppy sure knows how to do cake properly. Just indoors at 5:30 from a day in town 40kms away buying two gorgeous prissy white nine-foot timber farm gates - the only thing better than the things that come in Tiffany-blue wrappings. They are Royal Warrant gates. but then so are Twinings teabags at Coles ... oh I am so happy. As Basil Fawlty said "that was a snip, now for the tricky bit" - I have to find a fencer to hang them. Spare a thought for all the Leo/Virgo kids whose birthdays are in freezing weather. Love youse all.
ummm - would i be perceived as a "killjoy" if i mentioned that this year is also te reminder, 'anniversary'? of the awkward years within Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Yes, i was alive back then - but a simple child. Remember little
O'Dyne, what do you mean you only bought two gates, you're going to hate me when you need that third one for emergencies. Can't the fencer who's doing your fencing hang the gates and he should do it without charge considering the amount of fencing to be done or are you just fencing the home paddock at Blackberry Acres?
Davoh, something people of our age will never forget. Interesting though with new information that they didn't need to be dropped when Russia declared war on Japan and they immediately wanted to surrender to the Americans to keep the Imperial family safe. But boys and their toys, they wanted to see if the bombs worked and what came next. I guess the horror really stopped us from nuclear war althought there's a few countries with the bomb that I wouldn't trust. You don't have to walk the forests, at this blog we're all ancient gumnuts.
KB, all cake is beautiful but my favourite is fruit cake where the fruit has been swimming in brandy for about a month, baked then covered in almond icing followed by a 2cm layer of fondant icing, much like the last cake in the post. Although white is the preferred colour like a wedding cake and wedding cake is the only reason I would even consider turning up to any wedding. On my hate list is chocolate, white chocolate or caramel mud cake, all very nasty.

Woo Hoo. A new Ben. And, when it comes out I will be home alone and able to gobble it. Thank you.

Annie ... methinks, in fantasy; i'd like to walk the forests around here - try to find an ancient gumnut - deliver it by 'stretch' limosine ... heh.
