Too much drama lately so I decided to do a bit of fashion feasting. Not fussed about the peacock
feathers but the combined colours in luscious silk had my eyes drooling (they can do that) and I was thinking that the perfect jewell for this confection would be the huge blue diamond heart from the film 'Titanic' not the tatty beads the ratty haired tart is holding.
So travelling down the page, still feasting, I come across this. My first thought was, "Why bother?" but it does look demure and sexy at the same time. Unfortunately the only bits of me that would fit are the toptits and I would need another four outfits for the rest of me. Definitely comes under the heading of complete fantasy.

I very nearly did the same, but a cold shower worked wonders for me.
So beautiful...My favourite is the bluey green...but then they always are... Can't sew for beans but admire what others create
I hope a new Rudd Labor Government brings us lots more photos like those.
Of course, being socialists it'll be mandatory.
I don't mind!
Thank you Lewd Hughes of Fleetwood.
Pattern for comfy caftan MC. Enough material for foot to shoulder twice. Lay flat on floor and cut hole in material for head. Sew sides to just underneath arms and hem all the way round. Never wear outside the house.
Phil, if I'd known you were visiting I'd had her hold a cold beer ready for you.
I had a similar caftan that I wore around the house A LOT. when my oldest was about twelve she convinced me that it was time to retire it, so I did. I've missed it every summer since, but I can't be bothered tracking down a pattern and making another.
The bluey green thing has potential... sort of... if you ignore the ratty haired tarty thing.... but that other one? Looks like she got caught in the middle of a heated argument between curtains and some sort of bassinet cover/fly screen/mossie curtain. Quite disturbing.
Oh and Brian Hughes? We're in a drought. Stop.
River, I had a beautiful silk one back in the late 70s and I always felt so sophisticated wearing it. It nearly killed me to throw it out last year but threadbare doesn't nearly describe its appearance.
Heavens above Oz, don't discourage him, he's a pom and we all know those rumours about poms and water.
Ah yes... the old, "I'll take me bath every second Sat'dy, whither I needs it or nay"....
Ah, the English. Gotta love 'em. They invented McVittie's Digestibles, you know!
Wonderful card players too.
sorry JT - I'm with Ozfemme - it's a bassinette cover.
Basically I agree because the lace is cheap crap but I'm seeing it in pure silk chiffon with Chantilly lace and freshwater pearls scattered over and me being that size one day. I said it was fantasy.
oh this is the site for you.

I'm an admirer of Miss Dita Von Teese and thanks to your bassinette-cover negligee, I have found out where Dite buys her stuff.
Oh! tie me up!
