The package has arrived!

Coming in at 7lbs, 9oz is my second great granddaughter, Riley Kaye and held by her gorgeous sister Clio.  I like babies when they are sound asleep, it's the waking time that does me in.

7pounds 9 ounces! Ouch. That's a hefty baby. A good size actually, I don't know what it would be in kg, but I remember years ago when 7 to 8 pounds was considered a good weight. It does depend on parent size though. My husband and I were both on the small side and none of my babies reached 7 pounds.
She does look beautiful, so does Clio and I agree about sleeping babies being the best kind. You can get so much more reading done while they sleep.

She is a beauty. Welcome to this world little one.
I was ten and a half pounds at birth. The brother before me less than four pounds. My poor mother.

Nice. I have no idea of that weight. I agree with you, sleeping babies are best.

What a pretty, plump little punkin! The world appears much sweeter this morning for having begun the day with such happy news. I was never a mum, but as an auntie I enjoyed listening as an older sibling "explained things" to a newborn. No doubt Clio has already thought up some house rules for her.

River, Clio was over 8lbs. I always laugh at those Hollywood stars who say how hard it is to loose the baby weight but it only means they actually ate food when pregnant.

El Chi, I can only say most of that was brain. When my friends were pregnant, I was always surprised at how big the babies were when they were so skinny.

Cheryl, I can't wait to see her in another three months and see if they are alike.

Andrew, you've done well with the twins and handled little Jo nicely. Jo as a teenager will tax your patience, that's the real testing time.

Beth, there's just the right amount of time between them to get on okay unless Riley is as stubborn as her mother.

Annie O, her partner is very nice and the girls have great genes to get them through life.
